Installing iForms Server on OS/400

Download

System Requirements (Hardware):

Form merges are processor- and memory-intensive, and so the following rules of thumbs should be used to plan for resource allocation on active partions:

  • 1024 MB RAM available to job
  • Having multiple cores licensed and available to the job will dramatically improve performance
  • Job submitted to a job queue without restrictions on numbers of active threads [since iForms handles this internally]

System Requirements (Software):

  • OS/400 V5R4 or above
  • Java 6 (1.6)
  • QSH [typically loaded with OS/400 by default]

Download the iForms Server iSeries installer to a Windows desktop and run the installer as a local Administrator. Follow the prompts during the installation process to complete the install. You will require security officer credentials to complete the install (separate from the iSeries credentials that the iForms Server will run under).
